Come for "Sunshine and Summertime" on July 17. Hear keynote speaker Kyle Whitmire, Political Commentator for the Alabama Media Group (AL.com). Hear a panel discussion on the state of government transparency and open records with Alabama government and NGO leaders, and learn how we can advance this critical element of good government. (Panelists are being confirmed. Stay tuned!) Find out the winners of the 2021 LWVAL Awards and about their good works. The LWVAL 2021 Transparency in Government Award, Joyce Woodworth Memorial Award, Jane Katz Public Service Award, and Phyllis Rea Membership Awards will all be revealed.
We're calling LWVAL Convention, Part II, the FUN Convention, and for good reason! Jeanine "Dr. Jazz" Normand will premier her "Suffrage Centennial Boogie", we will hear original music by singer-songwriter Leslie Nuss, and there will be plenty of fun and games - with prizes!
